Title: New addition to the nest
Post by: Warbird9 on February 15, 2005, 04:01:09 AM
Recently bought this '87 LX V6. Only 23K miles!  :tg: It still kinda has that new car smell still. I have several pics to show, but I guess I can only show three at a time? I also bought an '88 TC, but that'll be another post. :ies:

very clean car, I havent even ridden in a car with less the 30,000 miles, let alone a nearly 20 year old car with that few. so what is up with the hood, was it popped open for the pics? I bought a full sized spare for my car.....

Yeah, I popped the hood before I started snappin pics. It rides real nice, but the motor sounds a little off to me. Might be that I'm not used to the 6's, so it might just be me.  The full size spare threw me for a loop too! :grinno:

wow, 22k miles. is this one of those "granny-driven to church and back" cars? I think it's safe to say this car fits the description of "immaculate!"

now add a supercharger maybe a 5.0 swap, or you could rip all of the stuff out and go carbed. I think that would do.

My first 'Bird, the '85 V6, had the full-sized spare. It had 120,000 miles on it when I bought it and the spare was still brand new. Takes up a helluva lot of trunk space

Wow, it's cool to see what mine would look like in near new condition!!! It's the exactsame color year and what not. Only mines the v8 version and it look like I may more options. But it's still a really nice looking bird!

hmm,  That is one of those cars that you just leave in the garage... I personally would just leave it as is..  no engine swaps  no rim swaps  just stock..  just keep it off of that rust causing snow...

I love it.. now where are the pics of the turbo bird.

Looks sweet!

I'd vote for leaving it be with that mileage too!  Can't get any closer to show room new than that car appears.

I'd like to know how people find these deals..  Where are you located?

I found the LX in an AutoTrader, and just got lucky they still had it. The guy I bought it off of had it for about a year, then bought an old Pontiac Chieftan (sp?) so he needed room. He had bought it from the classic "elderly gentleman that garage kept it, just drove it for groceries, and faithfully maintained it" type. :grinno:  :ies:
I live just a little north of Pittsburgh.

Oh, and the jury is still out on mods, or no mods. The TC will be modded, so I have plenty of time to decide. We're gonna be adding on to the house this spring, so a garage is on the way.... wooooooohoooooo!  :sawzall:  The LX will be garage kept again, I have to keep it out right now though unfortunately. :disappoin
