Post by: t.birdsc on May 27, 2007, 04:27:07 PM
Anyone know where I could get an 88 t-bird lh door lock act. for a decent price? Autozone said $138.00. I'll go power lock less for that price.

When you see how easy the key and the lock button works with that thing out of there you may want to leave it out.

Oh I forgot, I took one of those apart one time to see how it worked. It's a little motor with carbon brushes. There is a circuit breaker in there. It is one of those bi-metal things that opens when hot and closes when cold. Give it a couple of taps incase the breaker is stuck open.

When the lock motor went on my car I installed a universal lock motor I paid nine bucks for. It's worked perfectly for three years now, two of which the car was a daily driver.

I bought it from Princess Auto, but you don't have those in USA. You can probably find 'em on eBay cheap enough...

Head over to the salvage yard and get one and change the arm on it. Or head over to a Car  audio shop and pic up one of those uni models.
