Title: universal joint question
Post by: jasontbird on January 30, 2005, 03:16:31 PM
I am putting in new universal joints in my driveshaft.  As I was putting the new ones in I notice that they had inside grooves.  I looked in the package that contained the new snap rings and it had 2 half moon snap rings for the inside groove I guess.  Why would it only come with 2 of these.  I am not sure where I should place these.  My original universal joint didn't have any inside grooves.  It just had an exterior snap rings.  I just can't figure out why you would have 2 and not 4 on the inside if you were going to have them at all.  Each cap has an inside groove.  Thanks for your help, Jason.

nevermind, I just figured that the inside snap rings are for a different application or something.
