**** you Ami!
"he Hates These Cans!!!"
I saw it, too. Couldn't he have picked a toyota, or honda?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that was a decent looking cougar too :[
Atleast no t-birds were harmed :p
One more set of 14" spoke hubcaps, gone forever...
...thank God. ;)
Me and John were watching that. The headlights were almost perfect acording to John, adn the body appeared to have no rust. At least it didn't look like a V8 cougar...
I was gonna mention that scene, but obviously I was beat. I figured it might cause a stink, I actually cringed a bit myself when I saw that happen! At least the 87/88 was untouched. :birdsmily:
Isn't that a TBird on the DS and to the rear of the Cougar??? Where is that place????
It looks like that is a line of Tbirds/Cougars. That's a 4-eye next to it and an 87-88 next to that.
There was a whole row of Fox T's and Cougars it looked like
Also, just a thought, on the "silver" 4 eye, is that a white leather seat on top? I don't want to start a shiznit storm, just an oppion
The title is arguably wrong! It does hurt somebody...
You have to remember to most people these are just old cars............
I want to know where that junkyard is! Our local Pick-a-part never seems to have enough 80's T-Birds or Cougars, and that looked like a long line of them!
You're right 100,000%, man. It's a great thing these forums exist for weirdos like us. If you think about it, there were how many fox T-Birds and Cougars made from '83 - 88? Some quick calculator work with coolcats.net reveals roughly 675,000 Cougars for the Fox era. Take that number and devide it by at least 2 to account for cars that have been sped/wrecked, then devide it by the number of us there are. Fact is, we can't save 'em all, but they'll be around for a while.
weirdos!:shakeass: :flip: :flip: :raspberry :raspberry i'd love to hit that bald head with that spoke hub cap!
Is that the same guy from Pinks?
hahahaaa
I saw that too.
Looks like it was a pretty straight ol car. Oh well.
My dad used to work at a car crushing outfit in the '70s. He did some criminal things to cars back then.
His boss walked in and told him, "give me ten bucks." He got out a ten and handed it to him, and was told "you just bought that old Chevy." His boss pointed outside to a CHERRY baby blue '57 Chevy BelAir convertible with a white top that some old guy sold to the wrecking yard after it blew up its 283. Even in the '70s, that was a helluva score!
Later that day while he wasn't paying attention, the forklift operator stuck it with the arms, lifted it into the crushing bay, and by the time my dad noticed the fins going down into the box, it was too late. :cringe:
I'm a '50s Mopar NUT and the things he's told me about popping the old-style Hemis out using a forklift and a chain made me absolutely cry...
When he smashed the headlamp and turn signal lenses i wanted to cry. Someone needs to find out where that yard is so we can get some parts from them there was definatly a LONG line of foxes there. Maybe they are just old cars to some but its downright criminal to crush and destroy cars with good parts left, those quarter windows new are about $500 a pop. Haven't these guys ever heard of e-bay!? The rest of that show was cool though.
I'm guessing It's in florda.
I'd just like to know where they found a JY with that many fox T-Birds and Cougars. It looks like it's a double wide line of them
Speaking of junk, is this guy full of ?
The listing (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-murcury-cougar_W0QQitemZ150063470393QQihZ005QQcategoryZ6339QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem") shows this car as an "LS", but it's got the buttstuffog Gauges, Turbine Wheels, Sport Seats, etc. I can't see any Xr-7 Badges on it, but I thought only those 88 Cougars could get buttstuffog Gauges, Floor Shift, etc?
62 in the VIN denotes XR7. ;)
An even more worthless loser...
that might buff out, good wash and wax, she'll be good as new.
it sucks theres one less cougar in the world now...
good news- people might now know and recognize our cars
bad news- they'll think its something they are suppoesed to beat the hell out of:beatyoass:
Look at the line of Tbirds/Cougars!!!!!!!!!! AMI you !
Someone shoud go get a tat of a cougar at his shop. See if he gets the message. lol
I guess I'm the only one who has thought about doing that in the past?
Who cares?? It's just a car guys... relax.
Oh yeah? And YOU'RE just an idiot, so there!
I got nothin'. I've always disliked Ami though. Now I know why.
Surely there were some crunched-up Cavaliers or old rusted Civics or even some perfectly good Festivas in that junkyard that were more worthy of a sledgehammer. That bald douchebag saw it as a 'junk car'...we saw it as 'parts'. I think that's what touches a nerve here.
However, the sad reality is that junkyards do exactly that--and worse--to our cars every day. We just don't see it happening.
...Especially with s prices being what they are now. It doesn't make economic sense to let a ton and a half of s metal sit in a yard when they're getting close to $200 a ton for s. Until s prices come down we'll find fewer and fewer of these cars in wreckers.
If he'd have wrecked a Cavalier he'd have been put down in J-body forums. Somewhere somebody would've shat on him if it were a Festiva. We're fans of these cars, but to everyone else they're s metal. Truth hurts...
Exactly, much like this place...

This yard used to have dozens of fox tbirds and cougars but is going out of business soon. Now they are just having fun with the cars there. These two Lincolns were in really good shape when I was there back in May. All the cougars and tbirds they had last year were gone when I went in May and probably were treated much like this.
I think the part that sucks the most is that because these cars have no aftermarket following, we have to depend on junkyards for replacment parts.
It does aggrevate on me when I see them getting crushed.
I saw a mint 4-eye v-6 bird with a blown motor that was in a yard up the road from me. When I drove by the next day, I saw it being lifted vertically and going into the crusher.
I just wish I had space and money. I'd buy all the junk fox cars I could find and part them out fully before sending them off.
which yard is that? and where in MD is it? and i guess more importantly, do u think theirs much left there worth saving, or u think they ruined most of it?
That yard is in North East, MD and the last time I was there, they had 2 complete (and I mean put a key in and start them up) 87-88 TC's, a silver 87-88 TC and a 4 eyed Cougar.
I'm willing to bet that all they have left now are the two 87-88 TCs as they were still good cars. I pulled the only part I could really use off of one of them.... Mint center console control panel

my local yard went from 1500 cars down to 250, in the last couple years. Plus all the ones coming in during that time. Crunched all the tbirds, and cougars save for one 88 Bostonian edition. Sad indeed. S prices will do that.
well... up here you guys would be happy to hear TC's dont last long at a wreckers... if they're still there after a month all you'll get is a rusty frame... they're usually completley stripped...
Are there any yeard near me that have any? all the ones in my town don't
Nope. Feezles has one or two cars the last time I checked. Had to make room for more Cavaliers and Neons.
Wana take a trip sometime? We can ditch the van while we're there
make me sick.
and thats all i got to say about that
