Post by: tbirdscott on September 25, 2006, 10:39:27 PM
I noticed theres quite a few truck dwelling members on the site so I figured i'd start a truck pic thread, post pics of past trucks aswell if theyre worthy.

Heres my 64 F100, im seriously considering tossing it on a full-size 4X4 bronco frame and shortening the bed to fit, fun lil beater.

And heres the dodge, not mine yet but its willed to me and i've got the keys! I think its an 88 or 89? not a spec of rust anywhere on or under it, no cracks rips or wear spots inside, not a scratch or ding in the box (carried a camper all its life till now) oh and its up to a whopping 40,000km 5000 put on this summer :grinno: Its never seen a snowflake and only rain a handful of times.

85 Ram:

(guess the forum doesn't display pics it hosts, anymore)

That blue seems to be a popular color for these Rams. I've seen three other 1st-gen Rams in that color around town, besides my own.

They also seem to hold up very well, because I see a LOT of 1st-gen Rams, Power Rams, and Ramchargers.

Ok, I definetly have the truck to beat yours, I gotta load pics sometime. I got it for free, and its a TURD, haha. Just imagine small truck, house paint, white/black racing stripes, and post rollover with straight pipe. You'll love it.

The world's fastest 4x4 Nissan Hardbody! Got her down to 18.60's @70 MPH. :D :pbb: This is how I've managed to get around since the Birds are usually broken/too loud/get 5 mpg. Mods so far are a drop-in K&N with complete airbox removal, Royal Purple 5W30, and 30"x10.5" M&S tires. The gears are 4.88 LSD's with locking hubs. 131K miles, 20-23 mpg, A/C, heat, Alpine CD Player, topper, starts every morning! What more could you ask for? :grinno:

My "truck"

I know, it looks like a Volvo wagon, but it's 4WD and has carried 360 square feet of ceramic tile once (and did it ever squat), 360 square feet of hardwood floor once (lighter than the tile but still fairly heavy), about four dozen 32X48" pieces of wainscotting at another time, and several hundred 2X4's and 1X3's, dozens of 2X8's, and many, many miscellaneous pieces of MDF trim. Can you tell I regret selling my Dakota? Besides, it is classified as a truck by the EPA because of cargo volume :hick:. Oh, and it's for sale. I wanna buy another, cheaper car and a real 4X4 truck...

This is the only truck that I ever used/owned for personal use...the others have all been for work. It couldn't haul F all and was rather useless but did it ever do freakin good burnouts. I had it from new for 2 years and man I beat it like a rented mule. Feel sorry for the guy who bought it:shakeass:

My 85 Chevy S-10. 2.4L Inline 4 with a 4 speed. Must add it has straight pipe, and sounds suprisingly good. Was given to me after a rollover. 10 minutes and a porta puller it was "fixed". In the process of getting a new Cab.

About an hour after the rollover:

I used to have a POS 1996 GMC 3500 4X4 Crew Cab 6.5 Turbo Diesel until '04 when I replaced it with an '04 F250 4X4 Crew Cab V10. This truck is so much better than the GMC. It has the Lariat trim package. I mostly use it for pulling around my 28' camper, plowing my drive in the winter and it's my daily driver when the weather doesn't permit the use of my Bird! Fortunately, my daily drive is around 12 miles round trip...a gallon a day.

84 FS Bronco. 300-striaght 6, 4 spd. I have a set of 33-12.50's on nice polished wheels, but havnt picked them up form my cousins house yet....
No mods as of yet, but it will get a Hedman header, with a 3" exhaust, I would like to put the T-18,T-19, or NP-435 tranny in it that has that real low granny first gear, but that will not be for a while. This was supposed to be a winter driver, but I took it out to the farm and climbed around on some hills and got hooked! Nothin like riding aroudn topless :D

I've got a 3/4" drop waiting for it in the garage, but it's gonna be a pain in the ass so I'm dragging my feet on it.  Anyways...

This is the best towing rig out there.  Right now I'm some where around 450 hp. and about 700 toq.  I use it to recover vechicle most anywhere, ditches, swamps, woods, ect.  I make extra money picking guys out of these area's that one tow company would dare go.  I also use it to tow my newest toy my race trailer.  I just installed a 10000lb winch in it, now all I have to do is install a  16500lb winch on my truck and nothing will stop me.

Ok.  It actually belongs to the company I work for, but I get to drive it.  I spun out, stopped to chain up, and thought: my what a nice spot for a picture.

Bduly's post reminded me of the time I changed the water pump on a 1970's Ford S9000 on the side of the road in winter.  I was probably  too.

Here is my 85 F350 4x4.  Complete ground-up restoration, converting a 2wd F150 into a 4wd 1-ton using 1 California truck, 1 Arizonia truck and about 5 others for other parts.  Every wearable part is new Ford or N.O.S including all the body side mouldings (not yet installed in the picture), weatherstriping, lamps, all chrome parts ect..........  Fresh 460 with about 375HP/500TQ, built C6, Dana 70 rear (3.54 open in picture, now 4.10 pwrlok), Dana 60 King-Pin front, Alcoa wheels with 35" Toyo AT's.  From a dead stop a "bolt-on" 94 Lightning with jump ahead until it gets traction, but by 1/8 mile it pulls the Lightning by 2 trucks, and by 4 trucks in a 1/4 mile.(http://thumb2.webshots.net/t/59/659/7/84/60/2266784600033039002CyDXdj_th.jpg) (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2266784600033039002CyDXdj)

Nice, very nice. I love that body style. Wish I had a solid front axle and a nice body on mine!

This is a pic of a 1986 Ranger that I use to own.I bought it new and put a 4" trail master lift kit on it. I drove it for 14 years .It is now in a bone yard somewhere.

I thought I would throw in a pic of a go kart I biult. It had a 250 cc Oasa <----- spelling (spanish bike) engine on it.it was insanely powerful on this little frame.

Hey all,
I know I'm a little late getting in on this one, but here's my daily driver; a '98 F150 SuperCab Lariat 2WD, 4.6, 5sp OD, 3.55 non-LS, currently 128k miles.  These pics were taken after I modded it; for those of you up on your F150's, you'll notice that the front end is not a '98 - the grille and grille surround, front bumper with upper pad, and lower valance (w/ foglights from a 4x4 model) are all '99+ vintage ('99's got a whole new front end).  The truck originally came with the black honeycomb grille and chrome front and rear bumpers.  I happen to like the '99+ front ends, especially with the fogs, and I also happen to like the de-chromed look of the STX/Sport models.  So I located all of the necessary '99+ parts, had the grille and surround painted white, had the front bumper w/ upper pad painted to match my lower 2-tone tan, and also had the rear bumper painted the same color.

For a little bit of F150 trivia; 1998 was the last year you could get a 5sp OD in an F150 Lariat - from 1999 on, all F150 Lariats (leather and all power goodies) came with automatics.  It's actually a pretty rare truck.  How many stick-shift 2WD Lariats have you seen?  For that reason alone, I don't want to get rid of it, even though every now and then I would like to have an automatic back.

88foxt,
Man, I absolutely LOVE your truck!  I love the blackout theme.  Wanna trade?  Is it a Sport or STX?  The wheels make it.

Does this count as a truck?

It's a 95 Aerostar XLT I got for free because the oil pan was so rotted it was losing a quart a day..

I fixed that, did the ball joints and tie rods, exhaust and added the ranger rims. I've got about a grand into it and I love it. Carries 7 people with the rear seats in, but with the rear seats out it carries an amazing amount of stuff. I use it for Home Depot runs and junk yard trips all the time.

, what the hell did the previous owners do for the pan to rust out like that but leave the body so  clean.

The only way i'd own an aerostar is if it had a stick.
