I've always driven whatever I was showin'... Cheaper than finding parking outside the show grounds... Used to piss off the half motor guys...
My dad raised me to drive what I was showing. His thought process was why trailer what you should be driving? What's the point of owning something if you won't drive it? I see a little differently as I've gotten older, stuff gets harder to locate so getting in an accident may make the car truly irreplaceable.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 1986 Mercury Cougar Convertible Project

If it didn't sell and you can come up with a title, I'll drive it to the buyers House for gas money. I seriously considered this car as well, but I already have 2 86's and an 88.
I’m so baffled by this situation… In the original post, it says that it runs. In the eBay listing it says 'With a little work this car will run and drive, but needs to be restored.'
@foxcougarconvertible, did it sell? Does it run? You said previously on page one of this post, ‘The entire car hobby is in serious trouble if this is what people are willing to pay for such a rare car.’ But then a few posts later you’re saying, ‘Seeing that it's not worth anything, it's going to get parted out and sent to the crusher.’ I guess the car hobby is in serious trouble if you can’t let it go to a (hopefully) good home where it will be restored & cared for and would choose to part it out and let it go to the crusher… sad indeed.

I'm new to this forum, I guess I didn't realize it was out there on the interwebs... lol! I've been a Ford girl all my life, I used to own a 1985 Mercury Cougar LS, it was a 3.8L V6, had all kinds of bells and whistles, keyless entry was my favorite part! Unfortunately, the car had a significant amount of Michigan-filled winters' worth of rust, all the fenders, the lower part of the doors. It was Medium Canyon red Metallic (I think that was the color) so it hid the rust well. My dad backed into while it was parked in the driveway and did further damage. The interior was immaculate, I really couldn't understand how clean the interior could be while the outside was so neglected. After a while, I just realized that the body was a completely lost cause and so I sold it to my aunt and she drove it into the ground (I think the body fell apart first). She had owned an '83 and thought mine was in better shape so she wanted it for herself. I bet it was a beautiful car when it rolled off the assembly line, it was sad. It ended up going to the junkyard in 2002. I owned an '89 Mustang GT with super low miles and completely stock, but it had God-awful red interior and I just never liked it as much as I thought I would.
I think it's time to rescue a cat or bird... which is why I'm here... So, I'm just trying to get back into world of the 'Foxy' cars of the 1980's!' Since I don't currently own a Cougar or T-Bird, I still want to have a profile pic but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put one on here!!

What makes you think you can get a title for $10 around here. Oklahoma is one of the most difficult states to get titles. Seeing that it's not worth anything, it's going to get parted out and sent to the crusher.
It doesn't seem that difficult and as the other guy said, now you just sound spiteful. Did you get any type of Bill of Sale when you bought it originally for $300? Any type of transfer of ownership? Did you register the car in your name? http://www.dmv.org/ok-oklahoma/replacing-a-lost-title.php
Replacing a Lost Title in Oklahoma
When you are buying or selling a car, having the title is a must. However, at some point in your life, you may have to deal with the process of replacing a lost, damaged, or stolen title. Luckily, replacing a lost title is only a matter of filling out a few forms with the Motor Vehicle Division of the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
Even when selling or sping a no longer functioning vehicle, the presence or absence of the title can mean a difference of hundreds of dollars in the price you receive. Continue reading this page for more information on the process of applying for a duplicate title in Oklahoma.

Lounge / Let's play how much is this Cougar worth!
I saw another post on here about some guy complaining about how he only got $500 for a car that doesn't run & doesn't have a title! From the pictures, it looks pretty beat down regardless of how rare it is, I'd take $500 & run!
