i reused only the tail pipes on my 88 LX, the factory T bird hangers at the ler are also very flimsy. i changed them over to mustan hangers.. those pipes liked to move under there on the stock hangers
that metal itshiznitting will not bend easy, ask me how i know. also are you using a new partstore trans mount? they sit 1/4 to 1/2 inch higher than a oe stock one. i used the mustang urethane mount and it was the right height and gave me .5in clearance between the pipe and the body.. im running a BBK catted h pipe
the mustang wheel was cheap and plentiful..and nicer than the stock thinn wheel, i also take the dead pedals from the fox stangs and install them in my birds. its nice to have. id like a set of delux non power lock door panel inserts, havent found any in the yards around me.
manual seats for me too, i do miss the tilt feature, but solved it with a few spacers. i swapped a whole TC interior in my 88 LX 5.0, converted to a T-5z for the heck of it.. kept watching a NOS console plate without power seats on ebay, finally dropped to 16.00 buy it now... those power seat tracks weigh so much...

Cool, as long as that's a machined surface it should work fine long term, and the axles have a new wear area compared to when they were in the short housing.
i know its been a couple months but i did the swap on a 88 10" 7.5 bird rear since we didnt want disc but wanted the 5 lug...and we actually like the .78 track width on each side that we gained...we did it with 99-04 mustang axles, panther 10' drums (10x2.5) panther shoes (changed pivot pin to a panther one) worked out fine...good info on this site , thank you all for the input you guys have gave this site.
