Electrical Tech / 87 cougar got attacked by a gremlin
fuse number 8 controls Courtesy Lamps, Key Warning Buzzer, Illuminated Entry Module, Glove Box Lamp, Door Lock Relays, Radio Memory, Cluster Memory, Outside Mirrors, Tripminder Module, buttstuffog Clock, Anti-Theft Relay.  changed the fuse and everything works again.  The ignition switch I pulled was bad and I am just wondering if when that ped out, if it would have taken the fuse with it?

Thanks for everyones help along the way!

Engine Tech / engine building
No offence to the pro efi crowd but the idea of not having to deal with computers and sensor nonscence kind of gives me a hard on

Engine Tech / engine building
Thanks for the link,  I read that page a couple times but it more so is about the swap, and using the computer set-up.  I am pretty comfortable with the swap itself its more building the carbed engine and what is compatable with what that im not to sure about.

Thanks

Engine Tech / engine building
I have the opportunity to pick up a ho 302 from a 92 stang, i want to convert it to carbed to put it in the cougar.  Im looking at an edelbrock carb, would 500cfm carb be enough or would a 600 one be better?  I am looking on keeping everthing pretty well stock except gt40 heads if they will fit (any insight as to if they will fit with carbs?)  also, I understand I will have to change the distributor and fuel pump?  Any recomendation on fuel pump?  I plan on building the engine over the winter/spring and then doing a t-5 swap before i drop in the 302.

Thanks for any answers

Lounge / the dummies...
I'd have to agree with hypostang, I love my 87 cougar in the snow, i Love my 99 jimmy in the snow, i hate my parents 96 blazer in the snow bc i feel drag slicks have more tread then the tires on thier blazer.  I wouldn't take my cougar out in more than 5-6 inchs of snow (mostly because i have the choice between something that would be bottoming out in the snow and something that would drive over it with a few inches to spare.)  Getting started from a stop in the deep stuff is the hardest part.  I find when the cougar does start fish tailing (unintentionally) it is very predictable.  I had a 93 f150, 91 tbird and an 89 scorpio and niether of them are what I would consider predictable in a fishtail.
