I made a couple passes on the dyno earlier. The GTO made 303 hp and 320 ft. lbs. and peaked around 5500rpm. I will be buying a tuner immediately, whoever tuned this thing is an idiot. It's WAY WAY WAY lean. The printer was being stupid so I wasn't able to get a printout but should have it in a couple days.

smack your cousin please? it's just an ugly F-body camaro.. lol the super snake should have been in that picture, too.. lol
Haha, I disagree about it being ugly. It's a quasar blue '97 that looks brand new but to each their own I guess.

I like the new GTOs as they don't stand out, making them a sleeper.
I agree, it looks stock but with sticky tires it will easily go low 13's if not high 12's.

Well, I decided to buy myself a birthday present. It's a 2004 GTO six speed with 63,000 miles. It's practically stock, just has a Corsa catback, cold air intake, short throw shifter, 4.10's, and a tune. Obviously it's not a Tbird but I like it.

On the plus side, with advancements in engine controls and fuel delivery we likely won't need it. I mean, why bother with a 7.0 V8 when you could easily make a 5.0 more powerful with a pair of turbos.
I agree with you but only for a street car. 302ci is plenty to get a single 76gts or pt88 spooled but for a racecar with a pro mod 94 is a pita to get on boost with that few of cubes. Obviously, it can be work but it has to be spun considerably higher, have a more aggressive tune, sit on the brake longer... to get the job done. There are extremely fast modular cars out there but it's much more expensive than the old technology. I have every intention of putting a Coyote in my street car but I won't do put a modular in the racecar until I can get some cubes to go along with it. I like everything about the Coyote except how small it is. They do sound amazing though lol.

Flat tappets are metal on metal grinding. They sling little shreds of metal in your engine. If that's your thing, have at it. For a DD I wouldn't have them. They don't suck, they just have a use they're better for and they have a use they're not. That's just my opinion.
This post is complete BS. Not a single thing you just said is correct. No, it's not metal on metal grinding. Guess you missed out on something they just came out with called oil. No, they don't sling little shreds of metal into your engine. TurboCoupe50 is 100% correct. The lifters spin in their bores because the lifter faces are convex and the cam lobes are slightly angled. This is done so they wear evenly and INCREASES longevity. The only disadvantage to flat tappets is increased friction compared to rollers. As far as reusing roller lifters, tons of us have done it and spun our motors up to 7000 on a regular basis without ever having a failure. As long as the lifter is in good working order, there's no reason not to use them. Also, why would you run a flat tappet in a race car but not a daily driver? This is such backwards thinking.
I understand that you feel this way about flat tappets for whatever reason but there could be people out there reading this that are taking what you're saying for fact and being turned off to flat tappets for no reason. It's one thing to have an opinion but giving out information that is completely wrong isn't helping anyone.
