I have a 92 jeep xj as my hunting rig , recently i cracked the stub axle ears . I ordered a new spicer stub axle from rock auto , I was able to take a mallet and hammer on the ABS tone ring with no probs . The new stub did not come with a cotter pin hole I tried drilling a new hole and only got about 1mm . it dulls my drill bits . Is there a kind of bit i can buy to drill through chrome/moly? Could i just torque down the hub nut and apply lock tite ? I have only corded drill and vise in my garage . Thx .
I agree. It's a total mess. As if it was intended for computers running some sort of anomalous OS and web browsing applications. I don't go there any more either. Mine is way outdated and half of my current lineup isn't even on there.

Anyone go on cardomain the last year or so ? This new format sucks !! , Back in the early mid 2000's cardomain was my favorite site to get ideas on builds , stereo , homemade etc, etc .
Some of the snow is starting to melt around here . 2 weeks ago I went to Tim Hortons (coffee shop in Canada) to have a coffee and donut . While sitting inside I saw an old guy looking over my 88 bird. He comes in walks around and asks me if the Tbird is mine . I say "why yes it is " . He says he's been looking for one for a while and they are hard to come by . He asks me for a little bit of history and next thing you know he says do you want to sell ? I say possibly and get him to follow me to my place and I show him the Ton of extra parts I have in my garage . He offers $2300 and I decline , he the says $2300 and he'll cherry pick 1-2 extras and I can keep the rest. And just like that after 17 years of owning the Tbird is gone ! I thought it would be okay , but that night I tossed and turned in bed and had a belly ache all night . Anyone ever regret a car sale ? I sold the rest of my aftermarket parts on kijiji relatively fast . I did not like the look of no two coupe in my garage like always! Took the funds and just bought an 2004 Ford Mustang 3.9 with 109,000km . beatiful car !
One of my good friends i grew up with lives about an hour north . He is shopping around for a beater car to replace his Neon. He knows nothing about pony cars , sports cars or cares for them ,totally not a gear head/back yard mechanic enthusist , ETC. like i said he's looking for a beater . He just bought an 2002 Camaro 3.8 for $1300 !! 103,000 km on it . T Roofs , leather . bumper has a crack on it and that is it . Drives great. I'll say it once i'll say it again : "Where the F&*K am I when these deals come along !!!"
I have the complete exhaust vinnie . Looks like I cut tails with sawzall and get a ler shop to add 1ft of pipe to fit. just sizing up the down pipes right now . tight against shift linkage and tight against the starter on passenger side . i will try fitting better as it gets warmer . -19c right now and my garage is not insulated .
Gutting my rusted out dual y pipe exhaust system. I am considering buying a Mac Xpipe complete exhuast that was on an 88 5.0l mustang . It is priced dirt cheap . I have an 88 5.0l model with column shift and AOD . I have tranny crossmember in place and have bought stock 5.0l stang headers I have done search here and read up on subject . Any possiblity this set up would work ? clearance probs ? Anyone have the same set up ?
I drove by a GM dealer today . I saw a sign for 2012 impalas , 50 available , all for $11900 cdn funds . all lease returns with between 18,000-20,000 km. All 3.6L . Not overly looking for a new car but that seems like a good deal . and were willing to give me $3800 for my 05 Caravan . I looked online and these cars have mediocre reviews. But would not mind having a newer second car for my wife . Any owners on here or opinions . Tom Renzo ! You Gm opinion on this model ?
I got a kenny brown strut tower brace at a swap meet. No bolts came with it. I need help learning how to mount it. Do i use backing plates on inner strut towers ? how to mount other side to firewall ? I sized it up on my car . realy good fit . now need to get it mounted.
Been searching some of the swap threads on here . For those who have done this , is it a piece of cake ? I can get bracket pieces etc off 5.0L mustang , bird cougar from junk yard ? Also I am going to mount a B&M autoshifter .
I have been trying to find body parts for my 88 LX for sometime now . I go to Calgary pick and pull yesterday and see an 88 lx same color with rust free body . Awsome ! I say to my buddy . Get closer and the fenders and driver door ( the parts I need ) have fresh dents from being manhandled around the yard . These guys using the loaders there are goof balls . And this is not the first time , the last 6 month's I have came upon beat up bodies on tbirds and anything older for that matter . Readers , how do your self serve wreckers compare ?
