GM has a LOT of cars at the boneyard with rear view mirrors that have a built-in compass.I grabbed a couple and plan to start grabbing all I can.Easy wiring, and looks good.Even has lights built into it.I hope to install mine soon.
Great tip! i may have to take a trip to the local wrecker. Any recommendations on which GM vehicle to take a mirror from?
Nice car, welcome aboard. I have the same car that I am putting together now. On your car on the fender am I seeing some emblem or is it a reflection. If its a emblem can you tell me what it is so I know what I am missing.
Here is the emblem, i beleive they were only on 84 XR-7's, however at some point in this car's life it got them too, :D
Did anyone else notice the grille and headlight buckets are black? I think that looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. Nice car man, welcome to the site.
Thanks! all the chrome has been blacked out on the car (previous owner) It works out because Im not big on chrome. lol
Nice car !!! I like the ten holes better than the turbines, especially polished.Either way,you really can't go wrong.Any future plans we should know about? Also,WELCOME !!!
In the short term....the TC hood, and turbines, intercooler possibly front mount, put the A/C compressor back on, and fix the little things/
distant future plans (need money) i would like to rebuild the engine, new turbo, 8.8'' rear end, new paint, etc the list goes on, lol
First of all, I am new to this message board. Secondly here is my story of the new car.
My girlfriend and i just bought this car a couple weeks back. I have always loved the T-Bird Turbo Coupes, i had two 88's (one was a wrecked a few years ago. and the other i sold to my brother to pay for classes)
I really regretted selling the last turbo coupe i had but atleast it is still in the family. So anyway we found this cougar XR-7 for sale and i thought why not its practically the same car as a t-bird. I must say, i love the car (except for the auto trans)
I have bought a hood from an 88 TC that i will put on as soon as i get it painted.
I also have bought a set of turbine wheels from an 88 mustang GT that will be going on shortly.
Just wanted to say hi to all my fellow fox t-bird/cougar enthusiasts
