T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 1986 Cougar with 5.0 Northern NJ
I got this cougar to use as either parts or a second project.  but the town (and my wife) thinks i keep too many vehicles on my property.  It has about 165k miles but it still runs and shifts nice.  I put a ler and new alternator so i can take it for a spin once in while.  I am absolutely not advocating this car as a daily driver!!  just pointing out it runs nice,  shifts nice, and tracks nice.  It is black with a red inside.  black dash,  grey headliner.  the rest of the inside is red.  The floor sheetmetal is great and the body sheet metal is great except for a little rust behind the wheels as normal on these.  The paint is sun damaged.  The paint really doesnt look good.    It has turbine rims from a mustang.

I am also looking to combine the following into package with this cougar:

*t5 tansmission / bell.  I drove the car this trans was in and it shifted fine. about 90k miles
*mustang upper and lower intake
*Mustang headers- stock
*aftermarket hpipe
*Two turbine rims with tires.  good life left on .tires

I'd like to sell it all together for $900.  I think this is a fair deal -if not a great deal.  i'm pricing it to sell so that the wife is happy....and so the town doesnt visit again.  It just started to rain as i was taking these pictures before.  I will try to get better pics over the weekend.

Lounge / help with DC electric motor (not in Cougar)
this one doesn't have dual windings.  just a single speed 2000 rpm motor.    The PWM controllers I've seen (not industrial but  more hobby / robotics oriented)  require two leads for power input,  12 volts in this case,  and have two leads for output.  the speed is controlled with a dial from 0 to 100%.

Lounge / help with DC electric motor (not in Cougar)
Hi-  I purchased this DC electric automotive fan motor to use for a display turntable.  I also got a PWM speed controller for it.

Whenever I bought an electirc motor in the past it had two leads.  This one has a just a little silver pin sticking out of it.    I'm pretty sure the silver pin should go to the positive lead on my 12v DC power supply,  and the negative lead from my power supply should attach to the motor's metal casing.    any ideas?    Thanks!

Engine Tech / Pulling Engine- do i have to remove hood?
i thought everyone knew the Johnson Rod gag.  sorry.  Maybe it is a regional thing.  I didn't mean to be a wise ass.    I've heard the following exchange countless times:      "I can't figure out what's wrong with this engine."      "no?  did you try adjusting the johnson rod?"        -It's a ficticious part that is critical to the function of every machine known to man.    Or-as in my case- for several years when I was little I thought the dip stick was called the johnson rod.........cause my father tricked me.  He'd always refer to the dipstick as the johnson rod.

Hood is off.  I marked it well.    In addition to the hood,  if I also remove the Johnson Rods,  should I mark what side they go on or are they fully interchangeable?

ok.  i figured it oughta come off.    wishful thinking......is why i asked.  i took a hood off another car one time and it took me forever to get it back on correctly.
