I would like to start off by saying thanks to all of the help that was given to me on this web site by it's members over the years. I apologize if I placed this in the wrong area, let me know and I'll move it.
As much as I hate to do it, I am going to have to hand off the keys to my 'Bird. I would like to give the members here first crack at it. My transportation needs and other interests have changed to the point that I now require a truck (a Ford of course).
Just some quick details:
1987 Thuderbird, 3.8L V6 356,xxx miles. ~70k on reman. engine. AOD Trans. Power Windows, Locks, Drivers seat. New Alt., Smog Pump, fairly new exhaust
Red Interior, Good condition for its age. No rips or tears in seats, just some fading and normal wear. One small crack in the center of the dash. Pass side seatbelt buckle needs replaced.
Red exterior. Repainted a few years ago with Prowler Red. Paint has faded badly and needs a new paint job. There are some small rust spots over the pass. rear wheel well and on the bottom of the pass. door. There is also a small dent under the rear windshield which has been fixed and primered that was caused by a falling tree branch. If you are handy with body work and paint, these would be fairly easy to take care of.
I have tried to keep the car mechanically sound over the 11-1/2 years that I've had it and it has been very dependable. There are some issues though. The AC has a slow leak. It takes about 3 summers for the R12 to leak down to where it won't cool. The cruise control doesn't work due to bad slip rings in the steering column.
I don't want to get too long winded here, but if anyone is interested, contact me and I'll email some pictures or answer any questions. I also have some extra parts that I will include once I can track them all down.
